Let me introduce myself...
Hobbies
As you may have guessed, I'm Holly.
After growing up and living in the city of Nottingham, I moved to Scalford in late 2020, just a few miles outside of Melton Mowbray. In February 2023, with the new addition of our daughter, my husband and I moved to the beautiful village of Wymondham.
I began my career as a carer back in 2014 then became self-employed in 2017. Since then, I have cared for people of all ages and remain passionate about helping others. You can read more about my care career by clicking here.
In my spare time, you can usually find me dying my hair pink, exploring the countryside, or getting creative in my garden studio - covered in paint, paper and fabric. I enjoy expressing myself through a range of mediums and my love for nature and animals is often reflected in my creative work.
Since 2016, I have tended to an allotment and love the whole process from preparing, sowing, and harvesting, to cooking and preserving. In Scalford, we worked hard to turn our overgrown garden into a wildlife garden and allotment. When we moved, I brought the majority of my garden plants with me and we have an allotment in the village. You can follow my gardening and growing adventures on Instagram @homesweet_harvest
Art Experiene
Arts & Crafts have always
been a key part of my life
My creativity stems from my Grandmas who are very talented artists and seamstresses. As a child, I spent a lot of time with them and loved to get creative in any way that I could. From potato printing, making collages, drawing and painting to sewing. My older brother has also inspired me greatly with his passion for graphic design, art, style and music.
I always thrived in my school Art lessons and went on to study Fine Art at GCSE and A-Level, as well as Textiles, Media and English Literature. I usually had a pen or pencil in hand, doodling away on my schoolwork, any paper I could find and lots of trainers!
I also had the positive experience of co-running a clothing business for a few years. I designed, dyed and printed t-shirts, hoodies, hats and bags using eco-friendly dyes and inks. This venture was supported by The Prince's Trust and my creations were stocked in a popular shop in Hockley, Nottingham.
More recently, my favourite creative pastime has been collecting flowers out of my garden, drying and pressing them, then turning them into art pieces. I also love experimenting with mixed media and facilitating a wide range of workshops.
